Don't Cause Trouble Chapter 36: Talisman-Spraying Gun
Gathered in Dongcheng, January 1st.
The small secret realm officially opened. Ye Su and her group stepped through the entrance, followed closely by Xu Chengyu and the other two. Unless absolutely necessary, the trio wouldn’t interfere.
"The area with the densest spiritual energy is the heart of the realm," Xu Chengyu had explained to Ye Su before entering.
"That’s usually where the best magical artifacts and secret techniques are found—but also the most dangerous."
"Then we’re heading for the core," Ye Su said firmly.
If they were going to explore the realm, they might as well head straight for the core. But locating it wasn’t easy—it could shift or hide itself.
Once inside, Ye Su led her junior brothers and sisters toward the area with the richest spiritual energy. Her palm faced upward, subtly absorbing the energy. On her other hand, a small flame of spiritual fire danced at her fingertip.
You Fushi watched the flame spin around her finger and, unable to resist, instinctively reached out to touch it.
Ye Su immediately pulled her hand back.
"Don’t touch spiritual fire."
A refiner’s spiritual fire was meant for forging materials. If You Fushi touched it and happened to be something... unusual, he might just end up burned on the spot—leaving a handy piece of material behind. She didn’t want her junior brother turning into crafting components.
You Fushi silently withdrew his hand, hiding it behind his back, visibly displeased with the "mortal" in front of him. He only wanted to touch it a little.
"Senior Sister, there’s a three-colored lotus ahead!" Xi Yu and Lu Jiu, walking in front, suddenly called out.
Ye Su quickly walked over. In the middle of a small pond stood a single three-colored lotus. But the droplets rolling off its lotus leaves weren’t water—they were beads of blood-red liquid.
"There’s... someone... underneath," Ming Liu Sha said, pointing under the lotus leaves.
Xia Er stared for a moment, then realized there was half a corpse floating under the water. He recognized the clothes—it was a cultivator who had just entered the secret realm not long ago.
Looking again at the lotus swaying serenely in the pond, a chill ran down his spine.
"The stalks of the three-colored lotus contain a special sap that can be used in crafting magical artifacts," Ye Su explained. "The white, pink, and red petals can also be used in alchemy."
"Sounds valuable," said Lu Jiu. "I’ll go pick it."
Aside from the three sword cultivators—Xu Chengyu’s group—she was the only real combat strength in Ye Su’s team, so it was only natural she stepped up.
Lu Jiu gripped her sword and lightly stepped across the water. Just as she got close to the lotus, it suddenly bloomed to its fullest. But instead of seeds, the center revealed a nest of glittering, needle-like spikes—spraying them straight toward her.
Lu Jiu twisted her body mid-air to dodge the attack, and with a swift motion, slashed her sword upward. In the next instant, the entire lotus and its stalk were cut clean into the air.
Her movements were fast—barely a blur—as her foot skimmed the water’s surface. She reached up and grabbed the severed lotus mid-air, preparing to turn back.
"That half-baked knowledge of hers is the most dangerous kind," Ma Chongqiu muttered. "Everyone thinks the lotus flower is the threat, but the real danger lies in the roots hidden in the mud below."
Sure enough, just as Lu Jiu turned toward the shore, the water churned violently. Mud-covered roots burst from the pond’s bottom, writhing like snakes toward her back.
Zhou Yun couldn’t hold back.
"Senior Brother, we should go help!"
"Wait," Xu Chengyu said, stopping Zhou Yun and Ma Chongqiu with a hand. His gaze was fixed on Ye Su’s surprisingly calm face. "Let’s watch a bit longer."
Just as the roots were about to strike Lu Jiu, she noticed them and swung her blade backward—slicing half of them clean off. But the rest still surged toward her.
At that moment, Ye Su, still on the shore, showed no emotion. Calmly, she reached into her Qiankun bag and pulled out a newly crafted Talisman-Spraying Gun. She raised it slightly and pressed the trigger. The rectangular muzzle spat out talismans like a vending machine, each one flying forward with precision.
All the remaining roots were hit by Sleep Talismans and instantly stopped.
Xu Chengyu and his companions at the back: "???"
What was that?!
You Fushi asked the question everyone else was thinking: "Ye Su, what is that?"
"Talisman-Spraying Gun," Ye Su answered simply. Then she pulled out another one from her Qiankun bag and started spraying talismans again, using them like they were free.
You Fushi glanced several times at her storage Qiankun bag.
Why does this ‘mortal’s’ Qiankun bag always have stuff he likes?!
