Don't Cause Trouble Chapter 69: Purple Qi
At the moment, Ye Su stood in the middle, with her old and new junior disciples on either side. Internally, she had to admit that the old junior's words were quite right, always holding You Fushi's hand really did seem a bit inappropriate.
Just as she was about to let go, You Fushi suddenly grabbed her hand back. He looked up at the others riding their swords in midair and said, "Ye Su, there’s no flying boat here, but sword riding is allowed."
Ye Su, who not long ago had confidently promised to buy a big flying boat for her junior brother once she had money, paused for a moment and said, "…Alright, I’ll take you up."
So instead of holding hands, You Fushi walked behind Ye Su, holding on to the back of her robe.
"Senior Sister has also been standing all day. I’ll take him up myself," Yi Xuan offered, reaching out to pull You Fushi over but You Fushi dodged.
He glanced at Yi Xuan and silently mouthed the words, "Ugly and annoying."
Yi Xuan gripped his sword tightly, as if he might draw it at any moment and strike him down.
"Senior Sister, you all go rest first," Xia Er quickly stepped in to block Yi Xuan, trying to prevent a fight between fellow disciples.
After Ye Su and You Fushi had left, Ming Liu Sha walked forward slowly and said, "The new little junior is luckier than you."
Xiyu nudged Ming Liu Sha and explained, "It’s just that he’s used to being lazy. Even Senior Sister can’t do anything about it, so she just goes along with him."
"That’s right. But you’re the first disciple from Qianji Sect to reach late Core Formation stage," Xia Er said proudly. "When you and Senior Sister both get access passes and go to the sect competition, we’ll all be down there cheering you on."
The red mark between Yi Xuan’s brows seemed to glow a bit more brightly. He looked up. "The little junior isn’t competing?"
Xia Er scratched his head. "Probably not. Haven’t seen him show any real skills."
"Sleep," Ming Liu Sha added slowly from behind.
"Yeah, little junior’s really good at sleeping," Xia Er nodded in agreement. "He can sleep from morning till night, from spring to winter."
Even Xiyu couldn’t help chiming in, "If it were a sleeping contest, little junior would definitely win first place."
So he was a completely useless person. Yi Xuan lowered his eyes and smirked slightly, no longer bothered by what had just happened.
……
The completely "useless" person entered the room again, already preparing to go back to sleep. He was still holding the Mistflower Fang, as if it were some kind of bedtime comfort item.
With a slight wave of his hand, You Fushi raised a transparent barrier around him. He half-lay on the bed, his black hair loose and flowing over his shoulders and back, shining like the finest silk.
After a while, the person on the bed suddenly vanished, leaving behind only the loose purple robe. The bracelet holding the Mistflower Fang spun alone in the air, as if it had just slipped from his wrist.
Then a black tail reached out from under the robe and hooked the flower.
A small black snake, nearly identical in appearance to the Mistflower Fang, coiled around the bracelet. It opened its mouth and gently bit the head of the flower, but after a moment, seeming to lose interest, simply wrapped itself around the bracelet and fell asleep.
If someone had seen what was happening beneath the robe, they would probably have thought the snake-shaped bracelet had somehow gained a second, more lifelike snake design.
Faint purple mist from the little black snake’s body slowly flowed into the Mistflower Fang. Something was gradually changing, though nothing seemed to have changed on the surface.
…
In the neighboring room, Ye Su had already entered the Dark Realm. She was studying talismans, and a third talisman wall had now appeared in the realm.
She had told Ming Liu Sha and the others to rest more, but in truth, Ye Su herself didn’t rest much either. She had to keep up with both crafting and talisman studies, she couldn’t afford to neglect either.
The Qianji Sect hadn’t fully risen yet. They needed to build their strength so they wouldn’t be bullied or exploited.
The talismans on the third wall were clearly more complex, but Ye Su found them easier to understand.
Ever since she had completed the talisman patterns on the stone tablet in the secret realm of Desolate City, her comprehension of talismans had improved noticeably. Sometimes, when she meditated, those patterns from the stone tablet would even appear in her mind on their own.
Standing before the talisman wall, Ye Su selected one talisman at a time and began to draw them. Each drawing session lasted several days.
During this time, Xu Chengyu had come by. He guessed Ye Su was deep in cultivation, so he just spoke briefly with Ming Liu Sha and the others outside before quietly leaving.
"That’s why I say, our little junior can really sleep," Xia Er said, shaking his head as he sat at a table in the courtyard. "Senior Sister cultivates for a few days, and little junior sleeps for a few days."
"Maybe when he wakes up, he’ll have advanced again, just like last time when he quietly reached the Core Formation stage," Xiyu said, resting her chin on her hand.
The three of them had been training non-stop ever since arriving at Sword Sect partly because they were all secretly spurred on by their little junior. At the time, because they hadn’t reached Core Formation, they weren’t able to enter the secret realm with Senior Sister. But the little junior had already reached Core Formation and could stay.
"Junior Brother, done practicing your sword?" Xia Er waved to Yi Xuan, who was standing at the entrance of the courtyard.
Yi Xuan walked in from outside, dressed in fitted black training clothes. The tight waistline showed off his figure, and he still carried the heat of exertion from his training.
The boy was slightly thin but full of strength. His long hair was tied back meticulously, and his expression calm. The only thing disrupting his composed appearance was the bright red mark between his brows, which added a striking contrast to his otherwise cool demeanor.
Yi Xuan looked toward Ye Su’s room. "Senior Sister is still in meditation?"
Xia Er nodded repeatedly and said confidently, "I bet she’s about to advance."
This time, after returning from the Desolate City secret realm, only Lian Lian from the Wuxing Sect had advanced. The rest hadn’t shown any breakthroughs, which naturally led to speculation.
Xu Chengyu had already reported what happened in the secret realm to their master and the elders. Yi Xuan, having a master in Sword Sect himself, also quickly learned that they had faced danger there.
He hadn’t expected Ye Su’s talent with talismans to be so high, high enough to rival two personally taught disciples of the Wuxing Sect. From childhood till now, it seemed there was nothing Senior Sister couldn’t do.
"It's not good for Little Junior Brother to sleep all day," Yi Xuan said, his gaze falling on the door of the room next door. Ever since You Fushi showed up, he had thoroughly disliked this new Little Junior Brother.
Yi Xuan would never admit that the reason he disliked You Fushi was because he had taken over the role of the Little Junior Brother.
"May–be–sleep–ing–is–his–cultivation–method," Ming Liu Sha said slowly after finishing a cup of spirit tea. "Like… turtle-breath technique."
"I’ve never heard of such a technique," Yi Xuan said, lifting his foot and heading toward You Fushi’s room.
The other three in the courtyard didn’t try to stop him. In fact, they stood up at the same time, following right behind their Fifth Junior Brother, craning their necks to see what Little Junior Brother was doing inside.
"This… doesn’t seem appropriate," Xiyu offered a token protest.
"What if he really is cultivating? It’d be bad to interrupt," Xia Er added, ‘trying’ to dissuade them.
Ming Liu Sha, being the most direct, pretended to trip and fell into Yi Xuan, pushing him forward to open the door faster.
As soon as the door opened, You Fushi slowly and lazily pushed himself up from the bed. He sat halfway up at the headboard, turned to look at the four people outside, frowned, and spat out a single word: "Noisy."
Xiyu was the first to cover her nose and turn away. "Sorry, Little Junior Brother! I’m leaving right now."
She didn’t get far, she bumped straight into Ye Su.
Ye Su had just come out and saw the group crowding around the door to the room next to hers. She walked over and asked, "What are you all doing here?"
"Fifth Brother said he wanted to wake up Little Junior Brother," Ming Liu Sha blurted out before bolting away.
Xiyu and Xia Er followed his lead and ran off as fast as they could, leaving only Yi Xuan and Ye Su standing at the door.
Ye Su looked into the room and saw Little Junior Brother loosely wrapped in a purple robe, his black hair messily scattered everywhere. Yet his face was strikingly noble and refined, and the contrast between the two gave off an oddly confusing allure.
