Don't Cause Trouble Chapter 80: Pressure Bomb Array
A sudden sword strike blocked Ye Su’s path. In front of her, Xu Chengyu held his sword, eyes carrying a faint smile, but the sword intent in his hand was sharp and cold. Behind her, Lian Lian was chasing after her, ruthlessly throwing talismans.
She had no time to think. She crouched and moved sideways, throwing two Qianjin Talismans with each hand to block Xu Chengyu and Lian Lian.
But just then, Cheng Huaian, who was fighting nearby, suddenly threw a Paralysis Talisman at her. Seeing that she was about to crash right into it, Ye Su immediately braced herself with one hand on the ground and flipped over.
It didn’t stop there—right after, a sword strike from Yi Xuan slashed toward her. Ye Su raised two Diamond Talismans in defense, but they were both shattered before barely blocking the attack.
Ye Su: "…" These people have no sense of honor!
With wolves in front and tigers behind, and Yi Xuan and Cheng Huaian jumping in whenever they had a moment, Senior Sister Ye Su was in serious danger.
Ming Liu Sha somehow produced a plate of sunflower seeds and slowly cracked one open as he commented, "Junior Brother fought a bunch of people alone, and now Senior Sister is being ganged up on by a bunch of people."
"Karma’s a funny thing, huh?" Ma Congqiu chimed in, casually reaching for some sunflower seeds from the plate.
As soon as those words left his mouth, Xia Er reached out and smacked Ma Congqiu’s hand. "What are you even saying?"
Standing behind Ma Congqiu, Zhou Yun reached in with all the skill gained from nineteen years of experience and stealthily grabbed a handful of seeds.
"I just mean it’s going to be fun to watch them fight," Ma Congqiu sniffed the seeds and smacked his lips, reaching out again. "Just one handful."
"Anyone else want some?" Ming Liu Sha held the plate and turned in all directions.
"I do." Lu Jiu had just gotten off the arena. When he heard that Ye Su and Xu Chengyu were fighting, he rushed over to watch.
You Fushi silently grabbed a handful but didn’t eat them, just held them in his hand.
"Me too, Senior Brother," Xia Er reached for some.
"And me," Xi Yu also grabbed a handful.
And just like that, the sunflower seeds were divided up.
So on stage, it was a fierce battle, while offstage, people were chatting and snacking on seeds, a picture of harmony.
Repeatedly being ganged up on, Ye Su could only try to create distance. She darted around dodging, tossing talismans here and there. Most of them didn’t hit anyone, just slowed the four down.
"Wind-Lock, Moon-Seal," Lian Lian chanted, throwing out several talismans. At the same time, she drew an array-eye talisman in the air with her finger. A massive force of talisman energy descended, pressing down on Ye Su.
The mid-Nascent Soul level talisman force was strong enough to make a Golden Core cultivator’s body suddenly freeze and become unable to resist.
Ye Su had prepared for this. She slapped on several *Speed Talismans, trying to forcibly dash out of the array. But right then, Cheng Huaian pushed forward with the same type of array from the other side.
(Note: *Swift Movement Talisman has changed to Speed Talisman. Forgot to notice this.)
…Relentless, aren’t they.
Ye Su couldn’t draw talismans directly. She had to rely on talisman tools. Against average opponents, she could still sketch on stage. But against these people, there was no time at all. She could only keep pulling talismans from her storage pouch and setting up arrays.
But Lian Lian and Cheng Huaian weren’t ordinary talisman users either. They dismantled the arrays with incredible speed. Still, Ye Su kept throwing talismans like mad so many and so complex that it finally slowed them down a little.
Sweat covered Ye Su’s forehead. She finally paused for a breath, but hadn’t even caught it yet when Yi Xuan and Xu Chengyu flew in from behind, swords raised.
Senior Sister closed her eyes in exhaustion for a moment, but still reached into her pouch and pulled out a bone fan. She suddenly turned and leaned back, dodging the two swords. The sword intent from their strikes sliced through her hair, and strands of it slowly drifted to the ground.
Ye Su raised her fan and swept it left and right, deflecting their swords.
"Clang—"
The sound of the bone fan clashing with the swords.
Ye Su fended off both swords with her fan, stood back up, turned her wrist, and snapped the fan open. With a gentle wave, several silver needles shot out from the fan’s surface.
Xu Chengyu and Yi Xuan both backed away, raising their swords to block the incoming needles.
At that moment, Lian Lian and Cheng Huaian also broke through the array. The four once again closed in on her together.
They weren’t using cultivation suppression, only pure technique that’s the only reason Ye Su had managed to hold out this long.
Wielding her fan in one hand to send out more silver needles, Ye Su suddenly pulled out a whip with the other and lashed it at Cheng Huaian. He dodged, but where the whip struck the arena floor, a deep crack appeared instantly—proof of its frightening power.
"Wen Bone Fan, sixty-six thousand spirit stones any takers, raise your hand! Immediate deal!" Ye Su shouted a couple of lines toward the crowd below, then tossed both the fan and the whip toward Ming Liu Sha. "Blackwave Whip, ninety-nine thousand and nine mid-grade spirit stones. Its power is obvious!"
The audience, both on and off the stage: "……"
You’re in the middle of a match, why are you selling stuff?!
Below the stage, Ming Liu Sha quickly dusted off his hands, picked up the fan and whip, and turned around to shout, "Fellow cultivators! Opportunities like this don’t come twice!"
"That whip... is it really that good?" someone asked hesitantly.
"That one strike just now cracked the stage floor in an instant," Ming Liu Sha rattled off quickly. "If it were junk, there’s no way it could do that! Ninety-nine thousand and nine spirit stones—totally worth it! Trust me, fellow cultivator!"
Someone raised a hand: "I’ll buy it!"
Ye Su kept pulling out all sorts of magical tools from her storage pouch, using them one by one and tossing them down when done. With the on-stage fighting and off-stage pitching working together, the sales effect was surprisingly good.
"You’re going too far," Lian Lian felt utterly disrespected. She started drawing talismans in the air, determined to show Ye Su what a true mid-Nascent Soul talisman master was capable of.
Ye Su glanced down into her storage pouch. The only tool she had left from her recent refining was a flute. She said thoughtfully, "I think that’s about enough."
No one understood what she meant by that.
Ye Su gave a faint smile, raised her left hand with the palm facing up, and slowly lifted it. Several talismans on the stage suddenly floated into the air, glowing with golden light and connecting into several lines.
Xu Chengyu instantly felt a chill crawl down from the back of his neck, and he gripped his sword tighter.
Not just him—Yi Xuan, Lian Lian, and Cheng Huaian all became visibly more alert.
"You secretly set up a array?" Cheng Huaian realized. No wonder some of Ye Su’s earlier arrays had errors and seemed to include useless talismans, he had assumed it was due to her lack of knowledge about arrays.
Lian Lian hadn’t even finished drawing her talismans when Ye Su’s array activated.
She waved casually at the four of them, then immediately raised a Mirror Armor Talisman to shield herself.
"Boom—!"
The array activated. The arena shattered.
After a quake that felt like a mountain shaking, the entire large arena exploded. All five people were blasted away, and even the protective barrier was destroyed.
Luckily, several officiating cultivators were stationed around the arena. In that instant, they quickly re-erected multiple layers of protective barriers. Still, the exploding arena debris repeatedly punched through them, about to strike the spectators.
Everyone scattered in a panic, hastily putting up their own protective energy shields.
Just then, the sect master of Sword Sect, Zhou Qi, flew over. With a wave of his hand, a massive barrier instantly rose. At the same time, all the flying debris inside the barrier froze in midair then collapsed to the ground with a thunderous crash.
"Clean this up. Switch to another arena," Zhou Qi said as he flew off.
Only then did the crowd finally breathe a sigh of relief.
"Was that the Sword Sect’s sect master just now?"
"Yeah, a powerhouse at the Grand Ascension stage."
"The whole arena’s gone now."
Everyone’s eyes turned again to where the arena used to be. By now, it was completely gone. The five who’d been blasted away were all covered in dust and dirt.
Xu Chengyu tried to speak, but when he opened his mouth, a puff of ash came out: "…"
Across from him, Ye Su was also covered in dust, barely recognizable. She looked down at the Mirror Armor Talisman in her hand and thought: It’s done for, I shattered it myself.
"What kind of array was that?" Lian Lian was the first to recover. She quickly cast a few Cleanse spells to tidy herself up, but her waist had been hit by a piece of debris, and she couldn’t straighten her back at all.
"Pressure bomb—" Ye Su had only said two words when she suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood and collapsed to her knees.
She’d overdone it this time.
"Hey!" Lian Lian ignored the pain in her back and rushed to Ye Su’s side. She reached into her storage pouch but couldn’t find any healing pills, so she turned to ask Cheng Huaian for help.
"Senior Sister." Yi Xuan came over from the other side and placed a pill into Ye Su’s mouth. It was one Shen Ziqiang had forced on him earlier.
Ye Su lowered her head and coughed up more blood. "I’m fine."
"You’re suffering backlash," Cheng Huaian said, walking up. "What kind of array was that?"
He’d never seen anything like it. The power was way too strong, definitely not something a Golden Core talisman cultivator should be able to create.
After swallowing the pill, Ye Su looked a bit better, though her spiritual core still throbbed with pain. She gritted her teeth and stood up, only to be hit in the face with several Cleanse spells out of nowhere from You Fushi, who had appeared without anyone noticing.
"…Thanks, Little Junior Brother." Ye Su gathered up the shattered pieces of her Mirror Armor and said helplessly, "Pressure Bomb Array—a modified array of mine. I didn’t expect it to be this powerful."
She had been setting it up from the very beginning. Every talisman she threw had a purpose, not just to fight them off, but also to hide the traces of the pressure bomb array.
Ye Su had never tested this array before. The principle was simple: it was like a sealed container. Spiritual energy and energy from all attacks, would be gathered inside like gas in a can. Once the array was complete, it would all explode at once.
She hadn’t expected the explosion to be so strong, stronger than she could handle.
"This array… don’t use it unless absolutely necessary," Xu Chengyu said, walking over slowly. He’d been injured before, bled before, but never had he been publicly blasted off the stage like this.
"I know." Ye Su didn’t dare use it carelessly either. It shouldn’t even be called a pressure bomb, it was more like a mutual destruction array.
As people emerged from the debris, Ma Congqiu suddenly clapped Yi Xuan on the shoulder. "Junior Brother Yi, I’ve been meaning to tell you something for a while."
"What is it?" Yi Xuan turned his head to look at him. The dust on his body had already been cleaned off. There was a scratch on his chin, but it didn’t mar his handsome face. In fact, with the red mole between his brows, it gave him a touch of aloof beauty.
Ma Congqiu cleared his throat, then stretched out a finger and tapped Yi Xuan’s back. "Your robe is torn."
In that moment, Yi Xuan froze. He slowly reached back with his hand and went completely stiff.
—A huge chunk of his robe had been blown open at the back.
The next moment, everyone saw a figure riding a sword streaking away through the sky, leaving behind a sense of awkward retreat.
Zhou Yun touched his face with some regret and pretended he hadn’t seen anything.
Nearby, one of the officiating cultivators, still shaken, turned to ask his companion, "The arena’s gone, what about the match points?"
"Time’s up. Since no one’s left standing on the stage, everyone’s points will be deducted."
"Deducted and given to who?"
"Um… then should we not deduct them?"
"Forget it, no deductions. Just refund everyone’s points."
All the match points from this chaotic round were refunded. It had turned into a pointless fight and they’d lost an entire arena in the process.
Ye Su didn’t stay at the match venue. Her spiritual core was injured, and she needed to go back to rest and recover.
On the way, You Fushi walked quietly beside her and silently handed her a small bag of sunflower seeds.
Ye Su’s lips were pale, her face calm as always. She accepted them and asked, "Whose are these?"
"Ming Liu Sha’s," You Fushi replied. He’d seen the others eating them and decided to grab a handful for this mortal.
Ye Su didn’t even need to guess, it was obviously from her younger junior brothers and sisters. They liked buying cheap snacks like this.
