Don't Cause Trouble Chapter 85: Hehuan Sect
The noise caused by those talismans was loud enough to alert the Kunlun guards. They all came out on high alert, only to look up and see the tiniest flying vessel imaginable spinning around in the air, making more of a scene than the massive ships of major sects.
(NOTE: Flying vessel sounds good than flying boat, what do you think?)
Even the disciples of Sword Sect were stunned. They all knew that Ye Su and her group had been tinkering with something inside their room for a while.
Right before reaching the Kunlun Immortal Platform, a few people from Qianji Sect got off their original flying vessel early and took out a strange little craft. It had a few talismans stuck underneath that allowed it to float, but it didn’t even run on spirit stones, it was entirely pulled by the Chongming Sword.
When they first saw Ye Su and the others leave in that tiny thing, the disciples of Sword Sect had felt a mix of sympathy and sorrow.
But now...
That sympathy, that sorrow—gone without a trace. Qianji Sect was doing just fine. In fact, they were more outrageous than those with giant flying vessels!
Ma Congqiu swallowed nervously. Honestly, he was a little envious.
Xu Chengyu looked up at the little vessel slowly descending in their direction, a smile in his voice as he said, "As expected of Ye Su. Only Qianji Sect could come up with something like this."
The crowd grew even more animated. Everyone was talking about what kind of sect Qianji Sect actually was. After all, you needed real skill to pull off something like that. Some people even took out tracking jade disks to record the entire scene in the sky.
"Is that really a flying vessel?"
"Doesn’t look like it. I think they even stuck chairs inside. No wait, it’s built into the vessel itself."
"Which workshop came up with this thing? What a crime!"
"Looking like that, are you sure they’re from Qianji Sect and not Hehuan Sect?" someone blurted out, asking the real question on everyone’s mind.
Ning Qianyao stood in the crowd, listening to the nonstop chatter about Qianji Sect, and felt her entire body heating up. That overwhelming awkwardness pressed down on her like a suffocating blanket.
She was now in the mid-stage of the Nascent Soul realm, with spiritual perception. Her hearing and sight were far sharper than the average cultivator.
She could clearly hear the sound of someone scoffing, an eye-catching young woman in bright red stepping out from the Wuxing Sect’s flying vessel.
"She’s all flash, no substance," the woman sneered.
If the nearby cultivators were correct, that person was none other than Lian Lian, the daughter of the Wuxing Sect’s master.
The moment Ning Qianyao heard that mocking voice from Lian Lian, even the tips of her ears turned red. A twinge of frustration rose in her chest. She couldn’t understand why Ye Su had come to this grand sect tournament just to embarrass herself.
……
After all that commotion, the little flying vessel clearly ran out of steam as it descended especially after Ye Su retrieved the Chongming Sword and handed it back to You Fushi.
The whole vessel started sputtering and jerking as if it were having spasms. Fortunately, it wobbled a bit but still managed to land safely in the end.
"This… flying… vessel… needs… work," Ming Liu Sha said, enunciating each word slowly.
"Agreed," Xiyu nodded as she adjusted her hairpin, fully in support.
"We’ll tweak it again next time," Ye Su said as she parked the little flying vessel, then stood up and stepped out. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her youngest junior reaching out a hand, and she instinctively took it, leading him as they exited together.
"Did he break his leg again?" Yi Xuan was about to step out the other side, but paused when he saw them and asked Ye Su.
Ye Su cleared her throat and replied, "Does Fifth Junior want me to hold your hand too?"
Yi Xuan’s expression shifted: "No need." He quickly stepped out, leaving only a retreating figure behind.
You Fushi, who normally paid Yi Xuan no mind, frowned as he looked at Ye Su. "Why are you holding his hand?"
Ye Su: "……"
The moment they stepped off the little flying vessel, all eyes were on them. Ning Qianyao quietly backed away, not wanting Ye Su and the others to see her, let alone be associated with them.
"Not watching anymore?" the handsome, phoenix-eyed man standing beside Ning Qianyao asked gently.
"No, I’m done. Jian Hu, let’s go back," Ning Qianyao said as she tugged at his sleeve.
But just as she turned to leave, she saw Lian Lian walking up to Ye Su. Ning Qianyao hesitated, curious about what would happen next.
That daughter of the Wuxing Sect’s master didn’t seem like someone easy to talk to.
"This flying vessel of yours sure looks flashy," Lian Lian said, arms crossed and chin slightly raised. "Let me try it."
Ye Su replied casually, "One ride costs five thousand high-grade spirit stones."
"Five thousand? I could buy the whole thing for that," Lian Lian scoffed, clearly thinking Ye Su was trying to rip her off.
"The vessel’s cheap. It’s the cost of having a sword with a spirit pull it that’s expensive," Ye Su said with a chuckle. "If you want to try it, that depends on whether Little Junior is willing."
Disciples from Sword Sect also came over, curiously crowding around the small flying vessel, taking turns commenting on it and inspecting it.
The faint smile on Ning Qianyao’s face faded completely. She had been expecting to see some drama, but now she realized, they actually knew each other.
"What’s wrong?" Jian Hu noticed the sudden change in Ning Qianyao’s expression and asked.
She shook her head, forced a smile back onto her face, and quickly pulled the phoenix-eyed man away.
……
The people on the Kunlun Immortal Platform were still dazed from Qianji Sect’s "bombardment," unable to snap out of it. So much so that when the Ten Thousand Buddhas Sect walked up the platform on foot, and the Hehuan Sect arrived in a flying vessel scattering flower petals, the crowd no longer felt any sense of awe.
—They had already seen enough.
"Why do the people down there all look so... twisted?" asked Yan Hao, a core disciple of Hehuan Sect. She stood at the window in a pale pink gauze robe, puzzled by the expressions of the cultivators on the platform, which were nothing like the stunned admiration she had expected.
"They must be overwhelmed by the grand beauty of our Hehuan Sect’s flying vessel," said Mei Chouren, another core disciple, proudly. "Besides scattering petals all the way here, what other sect could create such a dramatic entrance?"
After the flying vessel landed, all the disciples of Hehuan Sect stepped out, dressed in pale pink gauze robes. They carried a faint fragrance with them, and every one of them was strikingly attractive, each with their own unique style. Their beauty was so dazzling, even the sunlight seemed to dim.
Logically, with so many beauties appearing all at once, the cultivators on the Kunlun Platform should have been stunned with awe. The Hehuan Sect disciples were certainly prepared for that reaction.
However, the atmosphere around them was strangely subdued. Yan Hao even sensed a few people showing expressions of... disappointment.
Disappointment? Why?
"Sigh, is it just me, or are the Qianji Sect people actually better looking than the Hehuan Sect?"
Already overwhelmed by Qianji Sect’s antics, the crowd had no interest in more floral fragrance or beauty. The rumors about Hehuan Sect’s stunning disciples were all that had kept them curious yet when the actual disciples stepped out, while they were indeed good-looking, none seemed more attractive than those from Qianji Sect.
A wave of disappointment spread through the crowd.
As the murmuring grew louder, Mei Chouren caught onto something and exchanged a look with Yan Hao. The two decided to go investigate.
But just as they approached, they spotted Ye Su and a few others among the Sword Sect disciples. They were instantly stunned. Just then, You Fushi turned around, and his face came into clear view.
The two women froze where they stood, gasping softly.
A moment later, they quickly turned and rushed off to find their sect master, Wu Yue.
"Master! Could it be you still have a few disciples wandering outside?" Mei Chouren asked.
Wu Yue had just been chatting with the Wuxing Sect Master. She turned around and squinted. "What are you talking about?"
"Master, look over there." Yan Hao pointed toward Ye Su and her group.
Wu Yue’s eyes lit up. Then she replied seriously, "They must be my lost disciples."
All talk of sect politics was tossed aside. Wu Yue, with her two core disciples in tow, stormed over with great purpose.
"Kunlun territory is massive," Xu Chengyu was explaining to Ye Su. "The five sects are grouped together, while the others must pay a spirit stone fee and use a pass token to rent a room. Each token allows entry for the holder and one guest."
Ye Su nodded. "Let’s just follow the crowd in."
They were still talking when a waft of sweet fragrance swept over them.
"My dear disciples, I’ve finally found you!" Wu Yue exclaimed as she approached, reaching out to grab the hands of You Fushi and Yi Xuan.
The two stood on either side of Ye Su. Wu Yue reached for both hands, but Ye Su was caught in the middle.
Yi Xuan scowled and avoided her hand. Ye Su frowned and tried to slap away the other hand, only to find it wasn’t even there.
She turned her head immediately, grabbed You Fushi, and pulled him backward.
"What’s going on?"
The Chongming Sword suddenly shot up between them, forcing Wu Yue to pull her hand back. She stared at the floating sword, both shocked and cautious.
At that moment, Ye Su realized something was off. She turned to look and saw that the hand she had just grabbed was empty air. The others around her also looked confused, like they were just now seeing Wu Yue for the first time.
An illusion!
You Fushi retracted the Chongming Sword and stood beside Ye Su again. "Why did you back away?" he asked, puzzled.
Ye Su didn’t answer. She looked at Yi Xuan, who stood ahead of her with a cold expression. It was obvious—he was the one who’d had his hand grabbed earlier.
"Sect Master Wu, these are disciples of Qianji Sect," the Sword Sect Master called out from afar. "Please don’t scare them."
Zhou Qi then explained to Ye Su’s group, "This is Wu Yue, the master of Hehuan Sect. She’s... a bit eccentric. Don’t take it personally."
Hehuan Sect had a reputation across the cultivation world—not a single one of them could be considered normal.
Wu Yue’s expression shifted when she heard the words Qianji Sect. "Qianji Sect again, huh."
Ye Su gave a shallow bow and said politely, "So it’s Sect Master Wu. I’ve heard of your great name."
"You’ve heard of me?" Wu Yue looked her up and down. "I think you must be one of my lost disciples too."
"A hundred years ago, Sect Master Wu said the same thing to my master," Ye Su replied sincerely. "Perhaps it’s time to come up with a new line."
"Zhang Fengfeng is your master?" Wu Yue squinted at her again. "I heard he’s turned ugly these days."
Ye Su: "……"
That "ugly" insult sounded an awful lot like something her junior would say.
"What is Qianji Sect doing here?" Wu Yue asked again.
"Master, they received a pass token," Yan Hao chimed in quietly. She pulled out a list of names from the Eastern Region.
Wu Yue looked it over. "So it really is Qianji Sect. And they even ranked first."
She tucked the list away and turned to Xu Chengyu. "Xiao Yu, your cultivation seems a bit weak, doesn’t it?"
"But you saw that sword’s power yourself, didn’t you, Sect Master Wu?" Zhou Qi hinted meaningfully. "Xu Chengyu’s score might be low, but there’s a reason."
After all, that Chongming Sword challenged people day and night, it would’ve been odd not to rack up points.
Wu Yue paused, then looked at You Fushi. "You’re the top scorer in the Eastern Region?"
She studied him carefully. "Good looks, a sword with a spirit, late-stage Golden Core cultivation... Not bad. Come join Hehuan Sect. I’ll make you our top disciple."
From the side, Mei Chouren instantly shouted at You Fushi, "Senior brother!" —not even caring that she just got demoted.
You Fushi gave the three of them a lazy glance and replied with just one word: "Ugly. No."
Qianji Sect = Hehuan Sect’s runaway disciples.
